The Prancing Horse Journeys into The Cities of The Kings

 Java (Indonesia), May 2nd – 4 together with Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI) hosted the Ferrari Java Rally. This driving tour took place over 3 days from May 2nd, 2014 through May 4th, 2014, taking
the group through two cities, Solo and Yogyakarta. A total of 52 Ferraris partook in this iconic event, with participants coming not only from the capital city but also Bali, Surabaya and Yogyakarta.

This grand event elicited positive enthusiasm from both participants and the local residents who witnessed the parade of the famous sports car well known for its prancing horse logo. Ahmad Sahroni, President of FOCI, considered the importance of this tour as a unifying activity for FOCI members and also as an avenue of friendship among Ferrari owners from all over Indonesia, other than those living in Jakarta. Ferrari Java Rally is certainly not a showcase of wealth but, more importantly, of friendship.

Arie Christopher, CEO of PT. Citra Langgeng Otomotif – Official Ferrari Distributor Indonesia, declared, “ Java Rally is a real commitment from Ferrari to always do the best for our clients. This rally journeyed across 2 cities in Java which are full of culture and royal heritage. It was an exciting experience. We also visited 2 iconic Indonesian temples, Borobudur and Prambanan. We, as Indonesians, love our country with all its
beauty.”

The very first day started from the city of Solo. Participants landed at the Adisumarmo airport and were greeted by Ferraris that have been neatly lined up, ready to be driven. The first destination was lunch while overlooking Prambanan temple. Accompanied by classical Keroncong music, participants enjoyed the traditional menu. After that, they were on their way to the city of Yogyakarta, heading to Tentrem hotel which became a temporary home for 110 participants of the Java Rally.

Once rested, 52 Ferraristis then marched towards the heart of Yogyakarta in the evening, where their King lives. “Menak Wida Ninggar dance” opened the evening, enthralling the participants, most of whom are residents of the capital. This dance was created by the late King, Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. Through an auction and charity activities, FOCI managed to collect IDR 411,000,000. IDR 205,500,000 was then donated to the foundation of Keraton Yogyakarta. This foundation is dedicated to helping Cancer and Lupus patients. Good faith was received positively by all the inhabitants of the palace.

th of May 2014 – For the first time ever, Ferrari Jakarta The next day, all the participants drove to Borobudur in Magelang. The weather was sunny in the morning, which made the group photo session all the more spectacular and unforgettable, as it was set against the backdrop of one of the wonders of the world. A short trip was organised around the art village of Andong, which was a refreshing activity for Ferrari owners. When the sun began to set, the group of the Prancing Horse returned to Yogyakarta. The second day closed with a festive pool party attended by beautiful girls of FHM.

On the last day, after checking out of the hotel, this Ferrari group was ready to return to Solo. Lunch was organised at the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat before the participants flew back to Jakarta. All participants wore Batik, the traditional outfit in honor of this feast. The lunch was more memorable with the presence of the royal families. As a closing, FOCI donated the other half of the proceeds from the charity auction of IDR 205,500,000 to the foundation of Keraton Solo.
